Senior Vice President Daniel Franklin is a Senior Vice President at the Benenson Strategy Group. Throughout 2007 and 2008, he was responsible for managing the polling for BSG’s work on the Obama for America campaign and Sen. Frank Lautenberg’s re-election campaign in New Jersey, and he led the firm’s polling for the DCCC’s independent-expenditure campaign team, which conducted campaigns that led to eight Democratic pickups in the House of Representatives. At BSG Franklin has also led political-advocacy research projects for SEIU, CWA, UAW and the Combined Jewish Philanthropies, as well as market research for some of the largest consumer and financial companies in the nation, including Cadbury, La-Z-Boy and T-Mobile.
Prior to joining BSG, Franklin was a speechwriter for Senate Democratic Leader Tom Daschle and Maryland Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend. An award-winning journalist, Franklin was a contributor to Time magazine, USA Today, Slate, Mother Jones and The American Prospect, and he was an editor at the Washington Monthly. His work was selected for The Best American Political Writing of 2005.
