Senior Associate
Katie Connolly is a Senior Associate in Washington DC, working exclusively on our projects for the White House and President Obama’s re-election campaign.
Connolly came to BSG from the BBC, where she was a Washington correspondent reporting on US news across all of the BBC’s worldwide platforms – online, radio and television. Her primary focus was US politics and elections. She wrote regular online features and analysis, and provided reporting and commentary for a range of BBC programs.
Connolly previously worked as a Political Correspondent for Newsweek magazine. During the 2008 campaign she was embedded with the McCain and Romney campaigns to report for “the project” - Newsweek’s exclusive, behind-the-scenes special coverage. Her reporting as part of the project team won a New York Press Club award for Political Coverage and was nominated for a National Magazine Award.
Connolly has also worked for corporate strategy consultants L.E.K. Consulting and for the Australian Department for Foreign Affairs and Trade in their Washington DC Embassy.
Born and bred in Brisbane, Australia, Connolly holds a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Queensland. She completed her honors year at the University of Melbourne.
