Tobin Marcus is a vice president at Benenson Strategy Group, where he brings years of experience in political strategy, public policy, and communications to his work on behalf of political, corporate, and institutional clients.
In his time at BSG, Tobin has managed the firm’s polling, strategic research, and message consulting for President Obama’s White House, and has developed research-driven messaging strategies for clients ranging from corporations facing tough competitive challenges to non-profit organizations looking to change the conversation on major policy issues. He has advised clients including Bank of America, Verizon, Pfizer, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, Nestlé Purina PetCare, the Financial Services Forum, the Pew Charitable Trusts, ConnCAN, Families for Excellent Schools, and Murphy for New Jersey.
Tobin came to Benenson Strategy Group from the White House, where he served most recently as Vice President Biden’s economic policy advisor. In more than four years at the White House and as the Vice President’s top policy staffer on the 2012 Obama-Biden campaign, Tobin played key roles in major policy development and political communications projects, including debate prep for Vice President Biden and writing the President’s gun violence prevention plan.
Born in Texas and raised in Maryland, Tobin is a graduate of Brown University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in physics and political science. He lives in Manhattan with his wife and their dog Zoe.
