Joel Benenson, Founder and CEO of the Benenson Strategy Group, is one of the leading political and corporate strategists in the world. In his 20 plus years as a pollster and strategist, Benenson has been a trusted advisor to heads of state, domestic political leaders at all levels, Fortune 100 companies and their CEOs, and leaders of major advocacy and nonprofit institutions.
Named "Pollster of the Year" by the American Association of Political Consultants, and ranked among the "most powerful" people in D.C. by GQ, Benenson has left his mark at the highest level of politics. Benenson recently served as Senior Strategist to Hillary Clinton. Prior to that role, he led the award-winning research and polling programs for President Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns. Benenson also worked on President Bill Clinton’s team during the 1996 race.
Benenson’s experience in the private and advocacy sectors is also extensive. His communication expertise, nuanced analytical approach, and ability to craft deft, winning strategies has powered organizations such as Toyota, Procter & Gamble, AARP, the American Civil Liberties Union, the National Football League, HBO, and Campbell’s Soup Company.

Before becoming a pollster and strategist, Benenson worked as a political journalist for the Daily News in New York, served as communications director for Governor Mario Cuomo’s 1994 campaign, and was a vice president at the New York ad agency FCB. Joel has been a speaker at numerous events including the Worldwide Economic Forum (Davos) and is a regular contributor on MSNBC.
